How To Check Your Website Ranking And a Couple Tools To Help
Keeping track of your website and keyword ranks is vital to your online success so you can know what to focus on and what content to create. There are a lot of tools out there to help you, we cover a few below:
1. Google Search Console
Google search console is a great thing to use for website rank tracking. It will provide you with keyword rank tracking so you can know what content is gaining the most traction and giving you the most visibility. It is pretty easy to use and hook up to your website. This tool is nice because of the huge amount of data it can pull. For instance, other tools on this list may only give you the top 10 or top 50 keywords that you are ranking for. Google Search Console gives you everything that you are ranked for which enables you to create a more well informed strategy. It will also tell you your most popular pages and let you compare across certain date periods. Good news though, unlike the other tools below, Google Search console is completely free.
SEMrush has similar capabilities as Google Search Console for tracking keyword effectiveness. However, this tool goes a little further into competitor keyword analysis so you can find "loopholes" that you can rank your website for. The starting package in this case is $99.95 per month.
Unlike other tools, SerpStat offers an easier way to keep track of your competitors in the SERP (search engine results page). In other tools that offer competitive analysis, you need to create separate tracking accounts in order to properly monitor. This tool is all in one which makes it a little easier and less time consuming to use. It comes in a little less at a starting package of $69.00 per month.
Similar to SEMrush's capabilities, AhRefs lets you monitor your competitor's rankings and actually gives you suggestions to outrank them! SEMrush, at least in our experience, was great at giving this information, but not so great at giving suggestions straight from their platform. Otherwise, you get your standard keyword tracking and website ranking tools here. They've got some great support and offer plenty of helpful tutorials and SEO trainings to help you out along the way. It's also priced similarly to SEMrush with a starter package of $99.00 per month.
Moz SEO appears to be particularly good at detecting issues in your site and telling you how to fix them. Similar to AhRefs, this tool will give suggestions on how to outrank competitors and will even tell you what content to make next! MOZ also fits into that $99.00 per month starter package.
