New Community Guidelines By Youtube
YouTube is adding a one-time warning for all users if they violate the community guidelines. This new addition is a great addition to the old 3 strike system because it gives users time to review the community guidelines so they can understand what to do and what not to do. Previously, they would usually have their accounts freeze – so this method is likely to cause less confusion.
YouTube is also solidifying their strike system by offering the same penalties for all strikes. Before, the penalty would change from strike to strike depending on the account. For all marketers who have received a strike before, it can be challenging to navigate out of and adjust as necessary. This new penalty system is a little more lenient and not as harsh – all for the better!

No Joke. Story Telling Improves Brand Loyalty and Other Metrics.
With brands seeing a drop in loyalty, keeping your customers loyal is becoming more and more important. Story telling is a fantastic way to fight back against falling brand loyalty numbers and will capture consumer attention in online marketing and offline marketing. According to a recent Harvard Business Review article, a chemical named oxytocin plays an important role in this.
This chemical is activated when a story features characters that your audience will self-identify with. If your story also features tension, it makes even more levels of oxytocin release creating a great attention hook. Of course, this amounts to an increase in brand loyalty, customer retention, repeat purchases, and will aid in a front of mind strategy.
Moving forward with a strategy like this is wise. Try it out and let us know how it goes! Or, if you need help with this, contact us and we can talk through it. Wine Suppliers are Restricted on Social Media?
You heard us right - wine suppliers face restrictions on social media! If you have ever seen or run a wine dinner promotion on social media, it may have technically been illegal. Thankfully, the confusing laws from the era of prohibition are finally beginning to allow more wine related sales and marketing activity. It is bizarre that some of these laws still apply to social media marketing. According to an assembly bill passed last year, this recent revisions states that suppliers may post photos but no videos of wine or the related locations/events associated with the supplier. How odd!
